Jamie Foxx Reflects On Life-Threatening Health Scare In New Comedy Special
In his latest comedy special, Jamie Foxx candidly shared details of a harrowing health crisis he endured in April last year. The ordeal began with a severe headache, leading him to ask a friend for aspirin—but before he could take it, he blacked out.
Initially, a doctor treated him with a cortisone shot and sent him home. However, Foxx’s sister felt something was wrong and drove through Atlanta searching for better care. She eventually arrived at Piedmont Hospital, a place she had never heard of but was drawn to by what Foxx described as “angels.”
There, doctors discovered Foxx had suffered a brain bleed resulting in a stroke. Emergency surgery was critical, as one doctor emphasized that his life hung in the balance.
Foxx revealed that he lost 20 days of memory during his recovery and woke up on May 23 to find himself in a wheelchair. Reflecting on the experience, he credited his sister, calling her his “4’11 guardian angel full of love.”
