Jacob Romero & Kyle Bary Join Season 2 Of Issa Rae’s ‘Rap Sh!t’ Series As Recurring

The highly anticipated Season 2 of Issa Rae's Max series, Rap Sh!t, is set to feature two talented actors in key recurring roles. Jacob Romero, known for his role in OWN's Greenleaf, and Kyle Bary, recognized from Netflix's Ginny & Georgia, will bring their skills to the vibrant world of Rap Sh!t.

Rap Sh!t revolves around the lives of Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), two former high school friends from Miami who reunite with a shared passion for music. Together, they embark on a journey to form a rap group, determined to make their mark in the industry. However, as their fame grows, they face a crucial crossroad: whether to stay true to themselves or succumb to the pressures and demands of the music business.

Jacob Romero will be taking on the role of Lord AK, an accomplished musician and rapper hailing from Los Angeles. Lord AK's prominence in the industry is showcased by his headlining of a U.S. tour, bringing an added layer of excitement and intrigue to the storyline.

Kyle Bary, best known for his portrayal of young Zion Miller in Netflix's Ginny & Georgia, will portray Courtney Taylor, an up-and-coming rapper who has the honor of opening for his friend, Lord AK. Courtney's character promises to add depth and complexity to Rap Sh!t's narrative as well, further exploring the dynamics of the music scene and the relationships between artists.

Rap Sh!t is the brainchild of Issa Rae, who serves as its creator and executive producer under her production company, Hoorae. Leading the show as the showrunner is Syreeta Singleton, while Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry of 3 Arts Entertainment, along with Jim Kleverweis, join as executive producers. Notably, the hip-hop duo Yung Miami and JT of City Girls are co-executive producers, lending their expertise to the series. Additionally, Quality Control Films' Kevin "Coach K" Lee and Pierre "P" Thomas, as well as Sara Rastogi and Jax Clark of Hoorae Rae's Audio Everywhere Company, contribute their talents to the production. Ensuring an exceptional musical experience, Raedio takes charge of the series' music supervision.

Kyle Bary has captivated audiences with his role as young Zion Miller in Netflix's Ginny & Georgia. His previous television credits include notable performances as Quincy Dupont in Our Kind of People and guest appearances in The Wonder Years, among others. He is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, CESD, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.

Jacob Romero, known for his portrayal of AJ in OWN's Greenleaf, is set to showcase his talent in the upcoming live-action pirate adventure series, One Piece, on Netflix. Alongside these ventures, he has made appearances in popular shows such as Grey's Anatomy, All Rise, and The Resident. Romero is represented by SDB Partners and attorney John Meigs.
