HBO Max ‘It’ Prequel Series ‘Welcome To Derry’ Taps Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar And Chris Chalk To Star

Stephen King's iconic horror novel "It" has been adapted into several forms of media and is expanding with a prequel series on HBO Max titled "Welcome to Derry" (working title). While no character details have been revealed yet, the series has already announced an impressive cast, including Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar.

The series will be produced by HBO Max and Warner Bros Television, with Muschietti, co-producer Jason Fuchs, and Barbara Muschietti as executive producers. Fuchs will write the teleplay for the first episode, based on a story by the Muschiettis and Fuchs. The show will be co-run by Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane.

"Welcome to Derry" is set in the same universe as King's "It" and will expand upon the vision established by Muschietti in the two-film franchise, which grossed $1.17 billion worldwide.

Paige is a Spirit Award winner for her performance in "Zola" and has also appeared in the Oscar-winning film "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom". Adepo was Emmy-nominated for his role in HBO's "Watchmen" and recently starred in the Oscar-nominated "Babylon" and "The Three-Body Problem". Chalk's credits include HBO's "Perry Mason" and FX's "Feud: Capote's Women", while Remar recently starred in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" and Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis".

Muschietti will direct multiple episodes of the series, including the first episode. With an impressive cast and creative team behind it, "Welcome to Derry" is sure to be a must-watch for fans of King's "It" universe.
