Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was the talent of Academy Award winning, NAACP Image Award winning, and Golden Globe Award recipient Denzel Washington. Returning to the big screen and gracing us with his presence once more, Denzel Washington will play the character Macrinus in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II this fall.

The trailer, released by Paramount Pictures, shows Washington alongside Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, and Fred Hechinger in a legendary battle for the Roman empire. Prepare to be allured by Washington’s performance as a royally cloaked Ancient Rome character as he brings forth his epic charisma and brilliance that have charmed fans for decades.
