CBS recently unveiled a teaser trailer for its anticipated new fall series "Poppa's House," which is set to air on Monday evenings following "The Neighborhood." The series stars the comedic father-son duo Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., highlighting a playful and humorous dynamic between them. In "Poppa's House," Damon Wayans portrays "Poppa," a legendary talk radio host and happily divorced father who faces new challenges when a female co-host, played by Essence Atkins, joins him at work, and as he continues to parent his adult son, played by Damon Wayans Jr. This son character is a brilliant dreamer who strives to pursue his passions while fulfilling his duties as a father and husband.
The show is produced by CBS Studios with Kevin Hench serving as the executive producer and co-writer of the pilot alongside Damon Wayans. Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. also contribute as executive producers. The pilot was directed and executive produced by Andy Ackerman, while Kameron Tarlow from Wayans Jr.’s Two Shakes Entertainment is overseeing the project as the producer.
