Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Developing New Original Series ‘Vice City’ At Paramount+

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson

Paramount+ is working on a new original series called Vice City (working title) in collaboration with Lionsgate Television, Paramount Television Studios, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's G-Unit Film & Television. The show will follow three friends who are former soldiers and have returned to their hometown of Miami in the mid-1980s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal.

The three friends are disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served, and with no good job prospects, they team up with a mysterious Colombian immigrant to form a heist crew. Together, they unite their financial needs and criminal ambitions in pursuit of the American Dream, traversing a violent and dangerous path. The executive producers of the show include G-Unit, as well as Alex Young and Jason Spitz for 87 Eleven.

The original idea for Vice City (wt) comes from writers and executive producers Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters, who also worked on the upcoming film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Meanwhile, Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick franchise, will serve as executive producer and director of the new series.

50 Cent has produced a diverse range of content under his banner, G-Unit Film & Television, across numerous platforms. One of his most notable projects is the hit Starz series Power, in which he starred, executive produced, and directed. He also served as an executive producer in the expansion of the Power universe with spin-offs Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. Additionally, the company is developing several upcoming projects, including three BMF spinoffs and the British boxing drama Fightland. They are also working on a three-picture horror deal in collaboration with horror phenom Eli Roth and 3BlackDot.

Chad Stahelski's next release as director and producer is John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest installment in the record-breaking box-office franchise, which Lionsgate has scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2023. Stahelski is represented by WME and attorney Tara Kole.

Metayer and Peters are represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller LLP. They penned the greenlight draft of Transformers: Rise of The Beasts and also sold an adaptation of Val Zod to HBO Max, with Michael B. Jordan attached to star.

Overall, it's exciting to see the talented group of writers, producers, and directors collaborating on the upcoming series Vice City. With a compelling storyline and an all-star creative team, viewers can expect nothing but the best from this new show.
